21 CANDIDATES TO SPEAK AT CANADIAN COUNTY DEMOCRATS’ JULY 8TH FORUM & BEAN SUPPER AT REDLANDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

YUKON -- At least 21 Democratic candidates for county, state and congressional offices will participate in the Candidate County Democrats’ Candidate Forum and Bean Supper, from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in the Redlands Community College conference center. The facility is located one mile north of I-40 at 1300 S. Country Club in El Reno.

Tickets are $15 per person. Tables seating six are available for $100. Event sponsorships are also available for $100, $200 and $300. The public is invited to attend.

Organizers are calling the event, “Battle of the Democratic Candidates for Lt. Governor” because the major candidates for that office immediately agreed to attend.

“We have regulars sponsors from all over the state who tell us that our candidate forum is one of the best in Oklahoma,” Canadian County Democrats’ Chair Jody Harlan said. “In fact, we frequently have many Republican friends and neighbors join us for this event, which is open to anyone.

“Forums provide a great way to meet the candidates and hear what all of them have to say at one time,” Harlan said.

Democratic candidates who have agreed to participate at this time are:

Will Andrews, Candidate for Senate District 22 Candidate
Rep. Jari Askins, Candidate for Lt Governor
Sue Barton, Candidate for Congressional District 3
June Cash, Candidate for House District 56

The primary election is scheduled for July 25. The runoff primary election will be Aug. 22. The general election will take place on Nov. 7.

County Election Boards or other authorized agencies must receive voter registration applications more than 24 days prior to an election in order for the applicant to participate in that election.

“One of the easiest ways to register is to fill out a form at the post office and mail it while you’re there,” Harlan said. “You can also download forms from the State Election Board’s website at www.state.ok.us/~elections/.”
