A poster of this Norman Rockwell piece "The Golden Rule" hung in my classroom for years. Today it's in my office at the ODP. It reminds me of our inclusive party which at its core adheres to this great credo "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

What can be more American than Norman Rockwell? What can be more spiritual than the Golden Rule?

The actual piece is a giant mosaic that hangs at the United Nations. A mosaic is made up of thousands of tiny tiles that when put together create a beautiful piece of art. Each of us is one of those tiles and when we work together toward our common goals we create opportunity for all.

DNC Chairman Howard Dean often refers to the Golden Rule when asked "what do Democrats believe? what do Democrats stand for?" He points out that this great principle crosses all of the great traditions of faith and is a core value of our party.

Quietly put your faith in action, work together with other Democrats to make life better for Oklahoma and for America. Do unto others......
