4th of July

Fireworks, watermelon, lightning bugs, mosquitoes, politicians, flags, parades, volleyball, homemade ice cream, swimming pools, baseball, the Boston Pops. . . .what's going on in your community to celebrate Freedom on the 4th of July?

Cleveland County Democrats will be at Reaves Park in Norman for Norman Day 2006 July 4. We will be at a booth from about 10 a.m. till sometime early evening. Many party candidates and volunteers will also be at the Moore celebration July 3 and 4 at Buck Thomas Park.

Ada always had activities planned for the 4th;mostly taking place near Wintersmith park and the lake.
Think I participated in a pie eating contest one year, though I must not have won or I'd remember better. In election years there were plenty of candidates around and it was fun for political junkies.Hope Ada still has a big 4th celebration;I'd like to go back one year.
