Religion and Politics
Tulsa's Interfaith Alliance and League of Women Voters Forum

The October 16 Members Meeting of the Tulsa Interfaith Alliance will be a forum for Congressional Candidates on “Religion in Politics.” The forum will include candidate remarks and questions from the audience.

The candidates for the U. S. House ofRepresentatives, Mr. Alan Gentges, Democrat, and Mr. Bill Wortman, Independent, have confirmed. Mr. John Sullivan, Republican incumbent, has declined because of a prior commitment and has been invited to send a surrogate speaker.

The forum will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of John Calvin Presbyterian Church at 8181 East 31st Street (on 31st just east of Memorial Drive).

Candidates for the Oklahoma Legislature and other State and local offices have been invited to set up literature tables and meet with guests in the Fellowship Hall, adjoining the Sanctuary, at the conclusion of the Forum.

The Tulsa League of Women Voters has joined the Tulsa Interfaith Alliance in sponsoring this Forum. We hope you will attend. This is an excellent chance to question candidates about one of the most important and divisive issues in politics today.

If you have questions, please call Janet Storts, 747-7777, or Brad Byers, 494-3715.
