Just returned home from the retreat! The past 26 hours has been so much fun.
Payne County Democrats and the OSU Young Democrats were excellent "HOSTS"....They really rolled out the "blue carpet" with their hospitality and made us feel right at home!
The BBQ Dinner last night at Rollin and Marla Reimers' was a class act! The food, fellowship and entertainment was wonderful. The best part, it was not 110 outside!Entertainment was provided by Rep. Purcy Walker, and 6yr. old Lucas Ciliberti from Enid, America..
There was a good crowd that returned to the hospitality room at the Hampton Inn. Thanks Juanita, Charlie, Willene and Marvin for being in charge!

Saturday, we toured the Washington Irving Museum, and we visted the Woodland Park Vinyards....Both stops were very impressive and informative....At the winery we were given a tour showing how they made their wine.... It was nothing like the I Love Lucy tv show where Lucy was squashing grapes with her feet.

The ABC's of Campaigning with Bernice Mitchell was very successful. Thank you Bernice and helpers for putting together the workshop. Last count there were 25 in attendance.

The noon luncheon had over 110 in attendance. We were honored to have as our key note speaker, Governor Brad Henry. Kim Henry accompanied her husband. The governor was introduced by President Pro Tempore Mike Morgan.

Afternoon session was well attended by candidates, State Elected Officals, candidates, and guests from all across the 3rd District. Keynote speakers were Attorney General Drew Edmondson, and Preident Pro Tem Senator Mike Morgan who welcomed the audience to Payne County. Others speaking, Treasurer Scott Meacham, & Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland.
Candidates speaking; Pete Regan, Cody Graves, Jari Askins, Sue Barton. Labor Commission candidate Loyd Fields was in attendance, but had to leave due to prior commitment. Rep. James Covey,Rep. Danny Morgan, and Rep. Ryan McMullen closed out the speaking
portion of the program.

Placques of appreciation will be presented to the following retiring Senators from the 3rd District Senator Capps, Senator Fisher, Senator Harrison, and in memory of Senator Kerr.

All in all, it was a very successful event, and we thank everyone that attended part/ or all of the retreat! Most of all, we thank you for the money that was raised.
