A little rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm in Henryetta, as hundreds turned out for the Okmulgee County Labor Day parade and barbecue lunch fundraiser sponsored by the County Democratic Party. Corporation Commission nominee Cody Graves (above) made his pitch to the crowd, as did Labor Commissioner nominee Lloyd Fields, State Treasurer Scott Meacham, Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland, and Lieutenant Governor nominee Jari Askins. Fifth District Congressional nominee Dr. David Hunter, a son of a union household, also fired up the faithful. Local House and Senate candidates, and retiring local State Senator Frank Shurden, were also present, as were State Representatives Joe Dorman and Richard Morrissette. State Party Secretary Walter Jenny helped serve barbecue, and Fifth District Secretary Debbie Hogue-Downing and Affirmative Action Committeman Carl Downing made the trip over. Congratulations to County Chair Kenneth Powders, Vice Chair Linda Gerster, Secretary Anne Steiner and all the Okmulgee County Democrats for hosting the best Labor Day event in Oklahoma!
