Congratulations to
Lt. Governor Jari Askins

Jari Askins will get a head start on her four-year term as Oklahoma's Lieutenant Governor today when she takes the oath of office to fill the final days of Mary Fallin's term. Governor Brad Henry appointed Askins to fill the term until Askins is inaugurated on Monday, Jan. 8th at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City.

Governor Henry can now honestly say that he has done something productive in his first term of office. I am one of the Republicans who helped to elect Askins. I think she will do a fine job at Lt. Gov.--it wouldn't hurt my feelings if Henry wanted to Oklahoma a real favor and resign so that Askins can become Governor.
