OK - Henry Helps Farmers Weather Drought: A natural disaster declaration for all 77 Oklahoma counties has been issued by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns for farmers and ranchers who suffered losses due to the drought over the past two years. Gov. Brad Henry requested the assistance June 6. "Our hardworking farmers and ranchers have endured serious difficulties month after month as the result of an unforgiving drought and severe heat," Henry said. "What our farmers and ranchers need most of all is relief from the drought, but this disaster designation can at least alleviate some of the hardships they have faced."
